Spring color palettes are so refreshing and I’m very excited to share some of my favorites today for Wedding Wednesday! These inspirations come from http://design-seeds.com. This website is such a wonderful resource for choosing colors. They offer the ability to search any color value and then it will generate a color palette based on the inputted color. Trust me, once you start searching it’s very fun and addicting!

Here are some of the color palettes I’m absolutely loving right now for Spring weddings and events:

These muted door tones would work beautifully with a spring, vintage theme. Try adding vintage books to your decor with blue antique mason jars like in this photo.

These succulent tones are just fabulous. They are very feminine, soft and simply lovely. A succulent and rose bouquet would be absolutely perfect.

The contrast in this sprouting color palette is interesting and very earthy. Imagine bridesmaids dressed in navy blue holding a soft ivory and yellow bouquet. Similar to this.

Taking a cue from berries of the season, these colors are fresh and vibrant. Incorporate fresh, seasonal berries in your food choices as well like Josh and Elena did here.

I wanted to share these photo from one of our recent weddings! Accomac catered the event as well as had a hand in the event design. The wedding was held in Gettysburg at a private residence. We are so thrilled to have been a part of Elena and Josh’s big day!

There are so many wonderful cakes out there that are stunningly gorgeous and taste like a bit of heaven, but if you are concerned about pleasing everyone and looking to cut down on your costs a unique dessert bar might be a better option for you to explore. This also gives you a fantastic way to show your personality as a couple and personalize your wedding.

Popcorn bar –  An Accomac Event’s bride and groom had a popcorn bar named after their favorite independent movie theater from their college town. In addition to having a replica sign of the theater, they had the flavors displayed as movie titles on the sign. Guests were able to make their own favors with the old fashioned popcorn bags and melted butter. Flavors included “The King’s Peach” – A peach flavor, “Chariots of Fire”- supper spicy, “20,000 leagues under the Bay” – old bay flavored, “Blackberry to the Future”-Blackberry, and “The Banana Supremacy,” which was an interesting banana flavor. The guests loved it and it made for a great snack later on!

Dippin’ Donuts – A few months back, a bride requested a groom’s cake. Instead of the typical cigar box or sports team, she wanted it to really reflect her hubby-to-be. Donuts are one of his favorite foods and instead of making a giant donut cake, we decided to take it into a different direction – A coffee and donut action station named after the groom. We had two varieties of cake donuts and a coffee bar with flavored syrups. The groom loved it (as did the guests). Guests had their choice of plain or chocolate donuts and choice of 3 glazes – vanilla bean with citrus, rum glaze, and a nutella reduction. Toppings included carmel Krispie chunks, chopped nuts, and chopped dried bananas.

Rice Krispie Treats - A great gluten-free alternative to cake is rice krispies. One of our couples, who both have a severe gluten intolerance, had a beautiful cake made out of rice krispies!  Each layer had different flavored marshmallows just like a regular wedding cake would have different flavored layers. The top tier was cinnamon and sugar, followed by a triple berry (raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries mixed in with the krispies), and a “s’mores” flavored layer. The outside of the cake was decorated in fondant and many people were pleasantly surprised to find out that it wasn’t a “cake” but a really big treat!

Today is the first day of Summer! To help you get ready for all of your summer parties and events, here are some darling centerpiece ideas to use as inspiration.

Simple greens look fabulous in these mini metal buckets. Especially for outdoor garden parties, this idea is simple and very organic feeling.

Add some terra cotta pots with fresh herbs or greens in your decor as a nice complement to the metal buckets.

Something as easy as sand and a candle would be a lovely idea in these colorful glass containers. Create a conglomeration of vases for a nice display.

The glass jars in these wire baskets would work perfectly with tiny flowers like miniature roses. You could also fill them with colorful dried beans or spices!

We all know the most popular seasons for weddings are typically in warmer months, but don’t rule out winter. Winter weddings can be absolutely stunning. If you love the look of a winter wedding, but don’t love the chance of inclement weather, try holding a winter-themed wedding any time of the year. As I mentioned in a previous post, your venue can be creatively decorated to transport your guests anywhere in the world and that includes all four seasons too!

The Here Comes the Blog Wedding blog is full of inspiration for brides. I wanted to share one of their inspiration boards with you today for Wedding Wednesday.

Today’s  Wedding Wednesday post is on the sweeter side. Here are some ideas for giving your guests decadent desserts with a twist at your wedding reception. Dessert should never be boring!

Grown Up’s Bread Pudding Station:
In addition to the traditional lemon sauce, let your guests explore with several other options. Let them try alcoholic toppings for their bread pudding like warm bourbon sauce, Galliano & cream, Frangelica & cream or Chambord with raspberry coulis.

Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Carts:
If you’d like a fun dessert action station, try Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Cart. They’ll do cones and cups or a Sundae Party if you wish. If this option is too pricey, talk to your caterer about creating a sundae bar for you. I just love creating toppings that fit different personalities.  Sweet Willows Creamery in York makes home made ice creams that are just delicious. Don’t shy away from unique flavors  like the  maple bacon ice cream we served at our “Outstanding at the Farm” dinner.

Decadent desserts for seated served dinners:

Speaking of ice cream, try a rich creamy vanilla bean ice cream doused in a shot of espresso, topped with a puff of cotton candy.

A hot shot of chocolate combined with Godiva liquor works well over Vanilla ice cream too. Don’t forget the crushed macadamia nuts on top!

I know how bothersome this undertaking can be, but it is truly a must unless you’re having a full- fledged barbeque or if you’re wedding reception is very intimate. It’s a pain to assign seats because this person doesn’t get along with that person and that is exactly why it needs to be done!

What could be worse than having all of the seats taken before the ex-wife of your uncle and the “new” wife arrive at the last available seats at the same time? These are your guests and it’s your job to make sure your guests are comfortable. No one wants to be seated by someone they don’t get along with. I’ve also had a family broken up due to no table assignments. The father sat alone at one table and the mother sat with her three children. I know, you’re thinking someone would surely offer up their seat. Guess again. Don’t put your guests in this situation.

That said, there are so many ways to make table assignments fun! For example, name each table based on a place that is special to you.

Name your tables different years (1985, 1986, 1987 etc.) and include photos of the two of you from that particular year like this couple did:

If you want to go with simple numbered tables, it can still be very creative!

This idea from marthastewartweddings.com would be so lovely for an outdoor, casual wedding! The pebbles were numbered with a rubber stamp and ink pad.

Continuing with an “outdoor/natural/earthy” theme, use chalkboard paint to create “plant markers” with guests names on them. The guests can then take the plants home as a gift.
