This week is considered “Ghost Week” here at Accomac Inn. Our Ghost Dinners are being held this coming Wednesday-Friday, October 27-29th. We are sold out for Friday night, but still have a few tickets remaining for Wednesday and Thursday. Read more about the dinners here.

In a previous post, we talked about the ghosts that haunt Accomac Inn and the story of John Coyle and the tragic murder of Emily Myers. Read more about that here.

Through the past many years, many employees and guests of Accomac Inn have seen or heard the presence of what we believe is John Coyle, Jr.’s ghost. One early morning our Pastry Chef, Deb, came to do her usual baking and heard noises in the Pub near the front of the building. Thinking that another employee must have arrived, she went to look and found herself face to face with an image of what she believes was the young John Coyle. The image lasted only a few seconds and he was gone. No words were said, but “he was there, and I was frightened.”

Another incident at another time took place when she was retrieving items from the walk-in coller, which had been built over the old springhouse used so often by Emily Myers those many years ago. Deb felt someone standing behind her as she worked in the cooler. She turned around, and there he was…that same figure of John Coyle not saying a thing, just standing there.

And there was more. Noises in the attic, doors banging shut on their own, images in mirrors, strange beckoning calls with no one found.

We’ll be posting more ghost stories tomorrow! Stay tuned.
